Final Premiere
Families gather for a red-carpet screening of every finished film.
Campers work together to create a short film from idea to premiere — learning real filmmaking skills while having an unforgettable week.

Every film begins with a story. Campers pitch original concepts, shape characters with distinct voices, and draft a shooting script ready for production learning how professional screenwriters turn raw ideas into structured narratives.

Who calls the shots? Your kid does. Campers learn to block scenes, communicate with actors, choose camera angles, and operate professional-grade equipment the same kind used on LA sets every day.

Campers use green screen technology and practical special effects to bring their ideas to life—whether that’s flying through space, escaping explosions, or creating cinematic illusions.

Every camper steps in front of the lens. Through guided exercises in screen presence, dialogue delivery, and emotional range, kids learn what it takes to create a believable performance on camera.

Production design transforms a blank studio into a living world. Campers build sets, style wardrobe, craft props, and experiment with character-driven makeup to give their film a polished, intentional look.

The final cut is where movies are truly made. Campers learn to assemble raw footage, adjust timing and rhythm, layer in music and sound effects, and add opening titles and credits to complete their film.
Los Angeles is the entertainment capital of the world, and Film Camp puts your child at the center of that energy.
Our Glendale studio sessions combine structured learning with open-ended creativity — helping kids discover what they're capable of when they're given real tools and trusted to use them.
First time holding a camera? Perfect. Our LA instructors specialize in turning curious beginners into confident young filmmakers by the end of the week.
Filmmaking teaches kids to pitch ideas, accept feedback, adapt on the fly, and stand behind their creative choices — skills that stick long after camp ends.
Camera work, sound design, directing, acting, and post-production — campers walk away with tangible skills rooted in the same craft practiced across Hollywood every day.
The final day delivers a moment your family won't forget — a proper screening where campers debut their finished film in front of everyone who matters to them.
Both sessions take place at Magellan International School in Austin from 9am–4pm. Spots are limited — reserve early.

Each day builds on the previous, creating a complete filmmaking journey from initial concept to final premiere. Campers arrive as curious beginners and leave as confident young filmmakers with a finished production they created themselves. Here's exactly what happens during the week:
Morning (9 AM to 12 PM): Welcome ceremony and team introductions. Icebreaker activities help campers connect with their future collaborators. Introduction to filmmaking roles and responsibilities. Film analysis workshop: What makes a great short film? Campers watch and discuss examples, identifying storytelling techniques they'll use in their own projects.
Afternoon (1 PM to 4 PM): The creative process begins! Brainstorming sessions generate dozens of original ideas. Campers pitch their favorite concepts and vote on stories to develop. Teams form around shared creative visions. Script development begins with instructor guidance, and campers learn professional storyboarding techniques to visualize their films before shooting begins.
Morning (9 AM to 12 PM): Script finalization and table reads where teams read through their scripts together. Intensive acting workshop covers on-camera techniques, emotional expression, hitting marks, and character development. Even campers who think they don't want to act discover they have natural talent when given proper guidance.
Afternoon (1 PM to 4 PM): Camera and equipment training with professional gear. Campers learn safe handling, basic operation, and filming techniques. Shot list creation and location scouting within the studio. Costume selection and prop preparation. Teams finalize all pre-production elements so they're ready to film tomorrow.
Morning (9 AM to 12 PM): Lighting workshop covering professional three-point setups. Set preparation and rehearsals. The cameras start rolling! Teams begin filming their projects with close instructor supervision, learning on-set workflow and communication.
Afternoon (1 PM to 4 PM): Continued filming with systematic rotation through crew positions. Each camper experiences directing, camera operation, sound recording, and on-screen acting. This rotation ensures everyone understands each role's contribution to the final film.
Morning (9 AM to 12 PM): Final filming sessions wrap up principal photography. Pick-up shots capture any missed moments. Re-shoots address any scenes that need improvement. Teams review all captured footage together, celebrating what they've accomplished.
Afternoon (1 PM to 4 PM): The post-production journey begins! Introduction to professional editing software. Teams start assembling their footage, learning about cuts, transitions, and pacing. Instructors guide campers through the editing process, showing how raw footage transforms into a polished story.
Morning (9 AM to 12 PM): Final editing push! Adding music that enhances emotional moments, creating professional titles and credits, sound mixing to balance dialogue and music, and basic color correction to give films a polished look. Teams finalize their masterpieces.
Afternoon (1 PM to 4 PM): Final film exports and premiere preparation. Campers prepare to present their work. 🎬 3:00 PM: Family arrives for the RED CARPET PREMIERE! Campers walk the red carpet, present their finished films to parents, grandparents, and friends, receive certificates of completion, and celebrate their incredible accomplishments!

Our Los Angeles summer camp welcomes children ages 7 through 14. We organize campers into age-appropriate groups so younger kids (7–10) can focus on imagination, play, and foundational storytelling, while older campers (11–14) take on more technical challenges and leadership roles within their crew.
More than okay — most of our campers arrive as total beginners. Our LA instructors are trained to meet each child exactly where they are. By mid-week, even the most camera-shy kids are calling "action" with confidence.
Just a packed lunch, a water bottle, and clothes they're comfortable moving in. Film Camp provides all cameras, microphones, lighting, editing equipment, and snacks. Kids who want to bring wardrobe pieces or small props for their film are welcome to do so.
Cancel 14+ days before your session starts and receive a full refund. Between 7 and 13 days out, we issue a 50% refund. Inside the 7-day window, we offer full credit toward any future Film Camp session. Life happens — we'll always work with you.
Each LA session is capped at 12 campers — no exceptions. Within that group, kids split into production teams of 4–6, ensuring every child gets real hands-on time with equipment and one-on-one guidance from instructors.
Absolutely. Our rotation system guarantees every camper experiences both sides of the camera. Whether your child gravitates toward directing, operating equipment, or performing, they'll spend meaningful time in each role throughout the week.
All camp activities happen indoors at Solar Studios in Glendale. The space is fully climate-controlled and purpose-built for production work, so weather is never a factor in our schedule or programming.
It's our favorite part of the week. Parents, siblings, grandparents, and friends are all invited to the red-carpet premiere starting at 3:00 PM on the final day. Arrive early, grab a seat, and get ready to watch your child's film debut on the big screen.
